Beautiful and more than 100 year old Adler typewriter. The weight alone (13 kg) indicates the good quality of these machines. All parts move (may be greased for enhanced smoothness). The coil does not move to the left when you’re typing.
Optically in superb condition! Everything is shown in the pictures and these pictures are therefore part of the description.
The serial number of this machine is 135131. Dimensions: approx. 37 (width) x 37 (length) x 16 cm (height) and weight approx. 10 kg.
The American Wellington Parker Kidder sold his design patents to Heinrich Kleyer in 1896, commencing production of the machine under the name Adler. Model 7 appeared as the first operational typewriter in 1900, which was followed by model 8 in 1902.
Kleyer AG used to sell bicycles in Frankfurt a/M. This explains why the logo on Adler typewriters shows a seemingly unrelated bicycle wheel.
